Privacy

There Is An Open Source For That does not offer accounts or user profiles. The only personal data we ever receive is the email address you give us if you subscribe to the newsletter, described below.

This site does not use first-party cookies and does not ask for payment information.

The published pages are static. Standard web server logs may still exist at the hosting layer.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across sites. No analytics data identifies you personally.

We also run a first-party event counter at /api/e. It records event counts: page views, search queries, and outbound link clicks. Each event stores the event name, the page path, and (for searches) the search term, truncated to 64 characters. Data goes to Cloudflare Analytics Engine in aggregate form. No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and no user agent is recorded. We cannot connect any event to a person. Search terms are stored exactly as typed, so do not put personal information in the search box.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address goes to Buttondown, our newsletter provider, and is used only to send the weekly digest. Unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
